- Design,
develop, promote and conduct health education trainings for maternal-child
health specialists (including nurses, case managers, perinatal health
workers, breastfeeding peer counselors, nursing students, public health
students, midwifery students), which promote evidence-based mother and baby
friendly care (includes Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training, Perinatal
Support Specialist Training, Childbirth Educator Training, Mother-Friendly
Childbirth Initiative Consortium of Los Angeles County).
- Grant writing and project management, supervision of consultants, volunteers, interns and board of directors.
- Provide consultation for agencies with maternal-child health programs; provided perinatal education and birth support to expectant parents.

- Wrote a Teen Pregnancy Provider Handbook; guidelines of care for clinics working with adolescents, on a grant from California Wellness Foundation.
- Conducted focus group and wrote focus group report for Citrus Valley Health Partners Emergency Room Nurses as part of a quality improvement effort
- Conducted exit interviews for evaluation of program for new graduate nurses participating in a mentorship and advocacy program at Citrus Valley Health Partners

- Supervision, evaluation, monitoring of client care coordination by eight (8) subordinates including: Perinatal and Family Case Managers and Comprehensive Perinatal Heath Workers (CPHWs), one (1) Outreach and Retention Coordinator and one (1) Prenatal Coordinator for the Heart of the City and Harbor Corridor Best Babies Collaboratives and the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP).
- Developed health education curricula, health promotion materials, conducted health education on prenatal, interconception health, parenting, nutrition and physical activity, chronic disease education, prenatal and breastfeeding classes in Spanish and English.
- Developed and managed outreach and retention plan for Best Babies Program.

- Interpreting research and federal, local and national data sources, preparing reports and providing statistical analysis.
- Prepared and communicated reports on trends occurring in MCAH population, recommending best practices,quality assurance measures, evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve quality of care and reduce health disparities in population served.
- Conducted outreach and education to community members and coordinated agency engagement plan; developed health promotion forums and conferences, materials and campaigns and health education plans to address health issues of population.
- Review statistics and research on disease conditions prevalent in the population, prepare statistical analysis and reports on epidemiological trends, interpret and report on data from various sources, prepare reports for community partners, program coordinator and Health Officer.
- Organized and oversaw all aspects of community outreach and health education, developing health communication materials, and conducted classes and trainings for staff and clients.
- Conveyed trends in health of population to community members, professionals, peers and the media. Worked with community stakeholders to engage them in health promotion efforts for the community served, and other research and evaluation projects as assigned by Health Officer and Program Coordinator.

- Developed and taught childbirth preparation classes addressing unmet need of free classes to Pasadena’s Medi-Cal clientele; goals were met to reduce prematurity, low birth weight and lower rates of cesarean sections.
- Invented, developed and managed a volunteer doula program; recruited, trained and managed volunteers; goals met to reduce premature birth, low birth weight and cesarean section among Pasadena’s Medi-Cal population.
- Developed breastfeeding promotion campaign to address low rates of African-American breastfeeding among Black Infant Health Program participants; established a volunteer breastfeeding peer counselor program; recruited, supervised volunteers
- Developed breastfeeding peer counselor education curriculum and conducted a breastfeeding client education classes and lactation counseling in prenatal clinic, designed and taught annual breastfeeding peer counselor training and certification program; 80 individuals trained as peer counselors from agencies working with perinatal clients.
- Developed health education and promotion messaging for chronic disease management, childbirth, lactation, premature birth prevention, nutrition and physical activity
